What is Non-Emergency Medical Transportation
It is a benefit for Medicaid eligible recipients who need assistance getting to and from medical appointments. It also covers trips to Medicaid-approved care. Individuals should make sure that they have an appointment scheduled.
Who Can Get NEMT?
- Individuals that are Medicaid-eligible and do not have transportation.
- Individuals that are Medicaid-eligible and that do not have a driver’s license
- Individuals that are Medicaid-eligible and have a physical or mental disability or are unable to travel or wait for a ride alone.
Flexible Ride Options
Transportation may be provided by car or van, depending on availability and your needs.
Shared Transportation
You may share your ride with other passengers heading to medical appointments nearby.
